Depth of field using colour

These images illustrate the way colour can be used to create depth of field. Hue, saturation and value can be used to create depth of field:

Hue - Warm reds and yellows make up the foreground cooling to greens and blues in the distance.
Saturation - Bright colours in the foreground fade to grey in the distance.
Level (shade) - On a dark background start with bright colours and darken into the distance.
Level (tint) - On a light background start with dark colours and lighten into the distance.

ideas for creative project

  1. create a design for an app
  2. invent a product or business. design a logo in illustrator use photoshop to place the created object in an ad for a magazine, billboard or web page.
  3. design a cd cover and poster for a band
  4. design a billboard for a new car
  5. design a promo screen for a movie or tv show
  6. design a magazine cover

Effective logo designs

I like this design. It is simple uses only 2 colours would work as a black white as well. Being a comedy recording company the microphone robot graphic works well it gives it a light hearted comical feel, but also helps tell us that it is a recording company.

This is a design for an app game. I like it for different reasons. The colours are bright and fun the words seem to jump out at me. The gradient brings the logo graphic to the foreground and gives it a 3D effect. This logo is perfect for an app game the graphics are clean and emphasise the text. I can imagine this popping up as a splash screen when i load the game.

I have chosen this logo as something more classy. It is for a hotel/resort. Gold on black gives it an upper class, expensive, exclusive feel. It is minimal in design there is not a lot going on although there is a sense of movement. The text is fine so it's not in your face, but capitalised so it gives it a sense of importance with out being bold. I get the feeling that this would be a five star hotel.

Feedback on T-shirt design ideas

Feedback on T-shirt design ideas

·      Add more detail to my gravestone design.
·      Find a good font to use.
·      Lighten the subject.
·      Focus more on the positive, not so much on the negative.
·      Some people wouldn’t wear a shirt with a gravestone or grim reaper on it.
·      More emphasis on the idea living on than the man dying.
·      Try not to make it look like the idea is being left behind.

T-Shirt Quote

T-Shirt Quote
You can imprison a man, but not an idea. You can exile a man, but not an idea. You can kill a man, but not an idea.
- Benazir Bhutto
Benazir Bhutto, fondly called “the Daughter of the East” became a victim of terror attacks. She joins the rank of leaders who have been felled by those who wish to suppress their Ideas. Twice elected the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir faced many challenges. Benazir Bhutto was herself imprisoned, exiled and killed, because of her ideas, but her ideas live on and her quotes inspire us to rally against mindless dominance and injustice.
To me this quote is about not being afraid to voice your ideas even in the face of imprisonment, exile or even death. Feelings of fear, injustice, sadness, confrontation, anger and oppression are countered with hope, courage, strength, and the belief in the power of an idea to live on long after the person who first acted on it has gone.

This is an anti-war design. The soldiers carrying guitars instead of guns represents the designers desire for people to use music and the arts to express their differences not force or violence.

This design also has an anti-war message with a light hearted approach. The white silhouettes on the khaki background is quite efective.

This design represents the theme not matter how big you are someone will always try to burst your bubble.

This design represents freedom. I like the contrast between the black silhouette of the woman and the white doves.

This design is about setting free the ideas in your head. It is a very powerful graphic, but also has a comic element which makes it quite appealing.

This design represents technology controlling or overtaking nature. Oncea again i like the silhouettes and effective use of a single colour for contrast.
